National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - 2026
I was read the following article on cbc.ca this morning.
In 2022, I read the TRC’s The Survivors Speak publication. This took me much longer than I anticipated and was challenging to complete as a third party reader far removed in time from the events of the commission and even further away from the events addressed by the commission.
To compensate for this lack of reading ability, I have found it easier to have my computer read things to me some of the time. This does impact my understanding, but, in the cases of emotional content, where it is better for me to hear it in the entirety rather than struggle through the reading, I think the assistance of technology is useful to my life.
